The Amsterdam club Skatemates is an initiative of involved skaters and BMX-ers that want to realize professional public skating & BMX infrastructure. The capital of the Netherlands has a fragmented skating landscape which is not on par with the wishes of the users for whom it is intended. To stimulate the urbansports culture in the Netherlands a good infrastructure is necessary, one that allows skaters to have a safe learning environment and enables them to develop.

Skate Mates has three main objectives:

1 The realization of professional, public skate & BMX infrastructure in Amsterdam

2 To encourage skating & BMX riding by organizing events in Amsterdam

3 Managing a website with information about skating & BMX in Amsterdam
